Most people drift through life dreaming of what someday can be, but never taking the steps to get there. I don’t just want to drift; I want to take the steps God has asked me to take. My theme this year has been “living intentionally”. This journey has led me to John Maxwell’s book Intentional Living. Here are a few thoughts from this solid book…

“A passive life does not become a meaningful life”

Good intentions must lead to intentional living

“What game are you watching that you’d rather be playing?”

“You’re supposed to leave footprints in the sands of time. Most people leave butt prints”

How intentional are you in these areas?

What you spend your best time doing

How you spend your mornings

How you invest in your family

What books you read and podcasts you listen to

What you say “NO!” to… and “YES!” to

Who you invest your time in

What risks you decide to take

Your decision making process

Do you want to get intentional about writing?

A lot of folks ask me about writing. Writing is a common dream, but rarely becomes a reality. Why is that? Because people never get started. John Maxwell says, “People ask me for advice all the time about how to write a book. I tell them to start writing”. If you can get started on your writing, develop a process and stick to that process you are going to impact others through your words.

God has wired me and called me to be a writer. This takes work and a lot of intention each week. I’ve had do the hard work to build a process for writing, but now I get to share that with others. This fall I led our first writers cohort. I loved walking alongside others to discover their writing process! Many of those folks are seeing results in their writing.

I will continue to lead writers cohorts, but I have packaged this content in an Ebook blueprint for writing called A Busy Bum’s Blueprint for Writing; A Process for Taking the Leap. I am making this available to folks for the next three days for just $19 until Wednesday the 22nd at 3:00 MST. The price will go up after that. If you would like to purchase this blueprint email me at Alan(at)stayforth(dot)com. I hope this blueprint can help aspiring writers become lifelong writers!
